This Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will become the first team in National Football League history to compete for a Super Bowl in their home stadium, and plenty of fans in the Sarasota area will be cheering them on. Whether you're rooting for the Bucs from the comfort of your couch or you don't care about football at all but just enjoy tasty nachos, we've got some recommendations for where to pick up some excellent game day takeout.

Artisan Cheese Company

550 Central Ave., Sarasota, (941) 951-7860, artisancheesecompany.com

Thursday night used to be Nacho Night at Artisan Cheese Company, but that tradition has been put on hold because of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the shop is resurrecting it, in a way, by offering $25 gourmet nacho kits that you can pick up and assemble at home. Click here for details.

Brick's Smoked Meats

1528 State St., Sarasota, (941) 993-1435, brickssmokedmeats.com

If you're feeding a large group, consider Brick's $150 massive Bone-In + Buns Out combo, which includes smoked chicken wings, ribs, Cuban-style sandwiches, pulled pork or chicken sliders, sides, chips and guacamole. Orders must be placed at least 24 hours in advance.

Chicken wings and sides from G's Southern Kitchen are perfect for enjoying during the Super Bowl this Sunday.

G's Southern Kitchen

1000 Circus Blvd., Sarasota, (941) 706-3156, gssouthernkitchen.com

You can order G's colossal chicken wings as part of a dinner platter or in bulk, with a range of sauces like lemon pepper, garlic parmesan or honey barbecue. Load up on sides like collard greens and candied yams, too.

Gecko's Grill & Pub

Multiple locations in Sarasota and Bradenton, geckosgrill.com

Gecko's is hosting special game day parties at its various locations, but if you're looking for takeout, you can order individual dishes from its menu or pick up large party platters that include salads, wings, pasta, subs, potato chips and more. Party platters must be ordered at least 48 hours ahead of time.

J.R.'s Old Packinghouse Café

987 S. Packinghouse Road, Sarasota, (941) 371-9358, packinghousecafe.com

Chicken wings are a staple of any Super Bowl Sunday, and few make them better than the OPC. For $50, you can order a giant batch of 40, or you can order smaller platters, 10 at a time.

Munchies 420 Café

6639 Superior Ave., Sarasota, (941) 929-9893, munchies420cafe.com

Munchies has been a destination for wing lovers for years, thanks to its outrageous range of spices, which goes all the way from mild to "ganja" to "fire in your hole," which are so hot they are served only in the restaurant, only before 10 p.m. and only to people ages 18-55. For Super Bowl takeout, settle for regular old hot wings, which can be ordered 10 or 20 at a time.

Nancy's Bar-B-Q

14475 State Road 70 E., Lakewood Ranch, (941) 999-2390, nancysbarbq.com

In addition to hosting a Super Bowl watch party on its patio, Nancy's is offering game day specials on takeout orders of wings, ribs and pulled pork. Or just grab one of the restaurant's popular family meal "crates," which cost anywhere from $49.95 to $139.95.

Pizza from Il Panificio will please a crowd this Sunday.

Il Panificio

1703 Main St., Sarasota, (941) 366-5570; 2053 Reynolds St., Sarasota, (941) 921-5570; 215 Avenida Madera, Siesta Key, Sarasota, (941) 800-5570; panificiousa.com

Everyone loves a good slice of pizza, and Il Panificio, which recently opened a new location on Siesta Key, makes some of the area's best. You can't go wrong picking from the restaurant's established list of pies, or just build your own. Don't like pizza? Try the prosciutto sub ($12), made with crusty bread that is packed with sliced prosciutto and provolone, plus toppings.

Tacos from Reyna's Taqueria are a great option for a game day meal.

Reyna's Taqueria

935 N. Beneva Road, Suite 701, Sarasota, (941) 260-8343, reynastaqueria.com

Reyna's is making taco platters that serve four ($49) or quesadilla platters that serve five or six ($55). Both come with a variety of meat options, as well as various toppings and flavorings. Or order wings, $10 for 10, that are tossed in Reyna's salsa roja and crumbled cheese and served with an avocado ranch dip.

Snook Haven

5000 E. Venice Ave., Venice, (941) 485-7221, snookhaven.com

If you live in south Sarasota County, consider picking up a platter that stars Snook Haven's barbecue. Options include brisket, pulled pork and chicken, ribs and wings. If you spend more than $50, the restaurant will also include a growler of iced tea or lemonade.

Wicked Cantina

101 Seventh St. N., Bradenton Beach, (941) 281-2990; 1603 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, (941) 706-2395; wickedcantina.com

A great choice for nachos. Wicked's come stacked with either chicken or carnitas, plus plenty of other flavorings. If you're feeding a group, go for the Family Pack to Go ($29.95), which includes a pound of meat, 12 tortillas, rice and beans, plus chips and salsa and all the toppings you need.
