Set the Bar Event Celebrates Great Local Cocktails
Every day this week, participating bars and restaurants are serving special new drinks, offering discounts and more.

In past years, the Sarasota-Manatee Originals, a coalition of dozens of local independent restaurants, has hosted a cocktail competition called Set the Bar. This year, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization is ditching the competition but has turned the party into a week-long affair.
The revamped Set the Bar event begins Monday, Oct. 12, and continues through Sunday, Oct. 18. Each day, participating restaurants are serving special new drinks, offering discounts and more.
