After being canceled for months because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the weekly Sarasota Farmers Market will return to downtown city streets on Saturday, Aug. 1.

The market has created what it calls a "customer code of conduct" for shoppers that includes wearing a mask, staying at least six feet apart from others and only touching products you will buy. The market is also asking people to leave pets at home unless they are service animals, to preorder items from vendors as much as possible, to "designate one shopper per household" and to "shop quickly."

The market will return for its normal hours: 7 a.m.-1 p.m. every Saturday, year-round.
