Whiskey Obsession Festival

March 29 through April 1 

Now in it's fifth year, the Whiskey Obsession Festival begins on March 29 and continues through April 1. The festival will feature classes, tastings, discussions, food pairings and over 250 whiskies to sample. On Thursday night, an interactive tasting and discussion will take place at The Francis—here, guests can sample whiskies and enjoy light dishes. Tickets are $75, and seating is limited to 100. 

Royal Tea Series by Simply Gourmet 

March 29

This Wednesday is the last opportunity this year to enjoy a traditional Royal English tea, small treats, and the unbeatable view from the Powel Crosley Mansion. Tea, sandwiches and desserts are served at 2 p.m., and tickets are $35. 

Yuniku Cooking Class 

March 29

Learn to make your own Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Korean and Hibachi-inspired dishes at Yuniku. Chefs will demonstrate how to make an Avocado Salad, Rainbow Roll and Teriyaki Salmon, and will then receive a three-course meal and drink. Cost is $30 per person.  

Wine Walk to Ca' d'Zan

March 31

Eat cuisine from the best caterers around town and enjoy wine from Total Wine & More on the historic grounds of the Ringling Museum and gardens, as well as the Ca’ d’Zan mansion. Proceeds benefit the Ca’ d’Zan Preservation Fund, which supports the maintenance and upkeep of the mansion and its grounds.

Reggae Bash

April 1

Celebrate spring at the Newtown Farmer's Market with a reggae bash from 2-6 p.m. There'll be live music from Natural Vibes Reggae Band, food and more. 

Local Beekeeping Seminar

April 1

Sarasota Honey Company will host a local beekeeping seminar in which participants will learn the inns and outs of beekeeping, from bees' lifecycle to how to care for a hive and more. $69.

Brew Life Brewing Soft Opening

April 1 

Brew Life, a new brewery located at 5767 Beneva Road, will hold a soft opening featuring four of its beers on April 1.  

Sarasota Coffee with a Cop 

April 4 

Local law enforcement officers and community members will gather together at Buddy Brew Coffee to discuss important local issues and increase communication. Most interaction between citizens and cops occurs during emergency situations, and in order to improve the relationship between police and those they serve, anyone is able to enjoy a cup of coffee and talk with a cop through this free national program.
