The “King of Horror” is at it again. Legendary writer and Sarasota County resident Stephen King has written another novel—and this one will be out just in time for Halloween.

King's latest, Fairy Tale, is a dark, fantasy thriller. The story revolves around a high-schooler named Charlie Reade, who is burdened by an unhappy life. His mother passed away when he was a child and his father is an alcoholic.

Then Charlie meets a dog named Radar and his reclusive owner, an old man named Mr. Bowditch. While living in a house on a hill, like Mr. Bowditch does, may not be too strange, having a shed in your backyard that emits weird noises certainly is. But it’s not until after Mr. Bowditch’s death that Charlie discovers the secrets the shed holds. The book comes out Sept. 9, 2022 and is available for pre-order at Bookstore1Sarasota and Brant's Books (via Bookshop.org).

Can’t wait to until September to get your hands on a new King book? Fans can look forward to the author’s upcoming collaboration with Richard Chizmar. The newest and final novel in the King and Chizmar's Gwendy Button Box trilogy, Gwendy’s Final Task, will be available Feb. 15.
