Orientation sessions for the upcoming round of grant-making from the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County will be held 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 1226 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, and 10 a.m.-noon Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce, 597 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice. To participate, register via [email protected].

First-time applicants are strongly encouraged to contact Fern Tavalin in advance of the orientations, via [email protected]. All potential applicants are strongly encouraged to attend one of the sessions. Last year, almost $2 million of tourist tax collections from hotels and short-term rentals were used to support the arts and cultural organizations of Sarasota Country.
