Only in Sarasota: Ca'd'Zan
This month: Ca’ d’Zan at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.

Completed in 1926 as the winter home of circus magnate John Ringling and his wife, Mable, the Venetian Gothic-style Ca’ d’Zan (Venetian for “House of John”) reflected the couple’s love for Italian architecture and was designed by architect Dwight James Baum and built by Owen Burns. Illustrator John Pirman says, “This view of the tower is my favorite; it rises majestically above the main structure, facing Sarasota Bay, and transports me for just a moment to another time and place.”
