Actor Dylan McDermott is casting for Sugar, his Sarasota-based web series about human trafficking. The series follows the story of Sugar, a young woman who becomes a victim of human trafficking but who, in the depth of despair, manages to find hope. A frequent local visitor and a fixture in Ringling College's film program, McDermott is writing and directing the series, which is produced by Ringling and David Shapiro's Semkhor Productions. It begins shooting this month and the filmmakers are looking for local cast members.
