The always bubbly Florida Winefest returns to Sarasota with four days of culinary excitement: wine and winemaker dinners at fine restaurants and private homes Thursday evening; a Bayfront Showcase lunch and tasting Friday afternoon; the Banquet on the Block along Lemon Avenue Friday evening; the Grand Tasting, Brunch and Charity Auction Saturday afternoon; and Wine on the Water Sunday afternoon. Proceeds benefit area children’s charities.

Bring your dancing shoes to a rollicking Full Moon Concert at Myakka River State Park Friday night when Reverend Barry and Funktastic Soul bring out their Hellacious Horns for an evening of funky dance tunes. The fun starts at 7 p.m. at the south pavilion; tickets ($20; $15 for Friends of Myakka River State Park members) sold at the gate.

The Sarasota Orchestra presents Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies
The Sarasota Orchestra’s pop series presents hummable hits from such Disney classics as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, sung by four young vocalists with Broadway and television chops. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Van Wezel.

World-famous aerialist Dolly Jacobs, comic daredevil Bello Nock and many of their Circus Sarasota pals team with Key Chorale for a new edition of Cirque des Voix (The Circus of the Voice). You’re in for dramatic circus artistry set to stirring live choral music. 2 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday under the Big Top at the Mall at UTC.

Sarasota Contemporary Dance (formerly Fuzion) celebrates its 10th anniversary with a look back at favorite pieces through the years. Four performances at the Cook Theatre at the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Sarasota Opera Verdi Cycle Grand Finale Celebration
With its final performances of Aida and The Battle of Legnano this week, the Sarasota Opera is now the only opera company in the world to have presented every single one of Giuseppe Verdi’s works. To mark the epic occasion, it presents a Grand Finale Celebration concert Sunday evening, a concert that also will mark Maestro Victor DeRenzi’s 700th performance with the opera company—a remarkable achievement itself.
