"With a heavy heart and an abundance of caution" in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, Marie Selby Botanical Gardens will close to the public until further notice, the gardens' CEO, Jennifer Rominiecki, said in a letter to supporters on Monday afternoon. She added that the organization plans to evaluate the situation day by day, and also continue to pay its employees throughout the extent of the closure. Currently, the CDC recommends that gatherings of more than 50 people be cancelled or postponed for at least the next eight weeks.
