Michael’s On East has unveiled design concept drawings for its new event space at Selby Gardens, which formerly was known as the Great Room by the Bay. Working in conjunction with interior designer Anne Folsom Smith and D.L. Porter Constructors, restaurant owners and business partners Michael Klauber and Philip Mancini have re-imagined the 4,800-square-foot space with theatrical lighting and audio/visual systems, allowing for indoor seating for up to 350 seated guests. The floor plan of the building and grounds will be reoriented to take best advantage of panoramic bayfront views. A new catering kitchen and restroom facilities will also be added. Michael's On East was named exclusive caterer for all private and public events at Selby Gardens last year. It also operates the Selby House Cafe in the historic Selby House. 

The new event venue, to be called Michael’s On The Bay, is expected to be completed by Oct. 1.
