Closed for renovations since late 2019, the concession stand at the City of Sarasota's Lido Beach Pavilion will reopen next week, with a new name and a new operator. The Lido Island Grill, as it will be known, will be overseen by Laszlo Bevardi, the chef and owner of Bevardi's Salute! in downtown Sarasota.

The new stand will reopen to the public at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 18. Amid a number of upgrades made by the city to the Lido pavilion, Bevardi has renovated the kitchen space and put together a menu that includes lobster rolls (a favorite from the previous concession stand), sandwiches, panini, tacos, burgers, salads and more, with vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well. A walk-up window will serve beer, wine, cocktails and frozen drinks.

"My family and I love Lido Beach," Bevardi said in a statement. "Our goal is to offer delicious food at an affordable price while dramatically decreasing plastic usage to help protect the nearby shoreline and wildlife. Plates, beverage cups and straws will be biodegradable, with straws available upon request. We look forward to welcoming the Sarasota community to the Lido Island Grill."

The Lido Island Grill will be located at the Lido Beach Pavilion, 400 Benjamin Franklin Drive, Sarasota, and will be open 10:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. daily. For more info, call (941) 444-7495 or visit the stand's website.
