The Bradenton Riverwalk

Realize Bradenton recently received a $100,000 grant that will enable the nonprofit to develop ideas for public art and event programming for the planned expansion of the Bradenton Riverwalk. The money was awarded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Donor Advised Fund of the Manatee Community Foundation. The City of Bradenton recently began moving forward on an eastward expansion of the Bradenton Riverwalk. As part of the grant, the Center for Active Design, a nonprofit that uses design to foster healthy and engaged communities, will survey residents, exercise enthusiasts, business owners, visitors and more. The results will provide practical recommendations for park design, wellness programs and more.
