Airbnb on Monday announced a new feature that allows guests to pay for a portion of their trip at the time of booking and pay the rest at a later date. The upfront payment required will often be 50 percent of the overall price, according to the company, but other options may exist. The change allows "cash flow-sensitive guests" to book trips more easily, according to a company blog post. Last year, 67,000 guests stayed in Airbnb accommodations in Sarasota County, generating $13.3 million in revenue for local hosts.
