The Sarasota County Commission voted unanimously on Monday to designate assistant county administrator Jonathan Lewis as interim county administrator after current administrator Tom Harmer leaves the job Friday, Dec. 8. Harmer announced last month that he has accepted a position as the next Longboat Key town manager. Lewis took on the role of assistant administrator earlier this year after serving as the North Port city manager since 2011. The commission indicated that Lewis could become the full-time administrator at a future date.
