Climate Change's Florida Consequences
The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee is hosting the Suncoast Climate Change Symposium with geologist and sea-level rise expert Harold Wanless of the University of Miami from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the school's Selby Auditorium, 8350 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. The event will focus on climate change and its consequences for Florida. Wanless is the chairman and a professor in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Miami. Wanless was among a handful of scientists chosen in 2014 to advise Gov. Rick Scott about the consequences of climate change in Florida.
