The Sarasota Honey Company recently opened the Honey Bee Education Center, Nursery, and Honey Shoppe at 1663 11th St., Sarasota. Through product sales and services, Sarasota Honey Company is offering life skills, academic learning and employment skills to young adults with special needs that have aged out of the school system. The shop offers lessons on honeybees, honey harvesting, beekeeping and more, plus an artisan honey bar with a variety of small-batch urban raw honeys. The shop is open for business, but a grand opening is planned for Saturday, March 4.
