City Approves Paid Parking Plan for Downtown Garages
Drivers can park in the garages for up to three hours for free. An additional hour will cost $3 and additional hours beyond that will cost $1.
The Sarasota City Commission last week voted to approve a plan to charge hourly fees in the city's Palm Avenue and State Street garages. Drivers can park in the garages for up to three hours for free. An additional hour will cost $3 and additional hours beyond that will cost $1, according to the plan. There will be no charges on Sundays or on city holidays. The plan will generate an additional $390,987 in revenue, according to city staff. The city plans to begin charging the fees on Wednesday, Jan. 17.
