The Education Foundation of Sarasota County will present #SRQHacks Oct. 14-16 at New College of Florida. The three-day hackathon will expose 60 13-to-18-year-old Sarasota County students to the world of computer science and business development. Students will be matched with more than 80 professional mentors, such as computer programmers, designers and business innovators, forming teams that will use collaborative computer programming to address community issues. The coding conference will serve as a springboard for students to learn about career opportunities and interact with mentors.
