Don Gugliuzza, appointed in August by Gov. Rick Scott to a second three-year term on the Workforce Florida board, has a message for business owners: Workforce Florida has $11 million through July 2012 to train your new and existing employees—on its dime, not yours. Small business, especially, can benefit.

Gugliuzza retired in 2008 from Tropicana as director of organizational development and founded the Mileo Group, a Bradenton-based company that develops customized workforce training and consulting for small and large businesses all over the nation. He is also vice chair of the Banner Center for Advanced Manufacturing, a Workforce Florida center of excellence for manufacturing training based at Polk State College in Winter Haven.—Ilene Denton
