Asolo Rep Presents Lauren Yee's fast-paced new comedic drama about a young San Francisco man who talks his way onto a basketball team traveling to Beijing for a “friendship” game and finds himself in the middle of the Cultural Revolution. Through April 11 in the FSU Center’s intimate Cook Theatre. 

40th Annual Sarasota Jazz Festival Continues

The Sarasota Jazz Festival grooves on, in a Thursday evening concert with piano legend Dick Hyman, clarinetist Ken Peplowski and more; Friday night with the remarkable vocalist Clairdee; Saturday afternoon a Jazz Party taking place on five stages; and Saturday night with the multi Grammy Award-winning vocal quartet, The Manhattan Transfer. Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart makes a guest appearance, as he leads the Sarasota Orchestra in works by Kodaly, Beethoven and Bartók; Jeremy Denk, guest pianist.
