Goodwill Manasota recently offered "mental health first aid" training to 24 of its employees. The program was created to give employees skills to help someone experiencing a mental health crisis. Mental health professionals from Centerstone, a mental health counseling and support practice, led the eight-hour course. Attendees learned how to help someone experiencing a panic attack, considering suicide or dealing with an addiction. The Goodwill employees who attended were from human resources, safety, operations leadership, the Veterans Services Program and the mission services team.
