"There’s something special about watching a Florida storm roll in at the end of the day," says photographer Damon Powers—especially when the end result is a photo like this. Taken from Bird Key Park, the evening started with a colorful sunset before a thunderstorm began building off the coast. As the light faded, lightning began breaking through the clouds, creating a striking—no pun intended—contrast between the warm colors on the horizon and the darkening storm clouds.
