Earlier this year, Pine View School's National Honor Society revealed a 12-foot by 60-foot mural on the side of the school's HVAC building, painted by 20 student participants, and led by the club's president Ginger Kreithen. It took more than three months to complete and contains more than 50 Florida native animals and 30 native plant species—"a permanent reminder of the beautiful wildlife all around us," Kreithen says.

"We were inspired by an article in our school's newspaper about old murals at Pineview," she continues. "We talked to the administration about themes based on local wildlife, and they loved it. We chose a forest on the left of the mural; that transitions into Florida scrubs, which are sandy, inland coasts with dry bushes, and on the right, the famous Florida beaches. This project was a gigantic undertaking, and we're so proud of it."
