SRQ Reports 1 Million Passengers in First Three Months of 2022

In 2022, the airport expects to break ground on over $150 million in construction projects, including a new five-gate terminal.

During March 2022, 442,846 passengers traveled through Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, a new record for the most passengers served in a single month.  It is a 59.5 percent increase over passengers served in March 2021.

Passengers traveling through the airport year-to-date total 1,085,500 compared to 564,066 year-to-date for 2021, an increase of 92 percent. The airport has responded  to  demand by increasing aircraft fuel storage, expanding the screening checkpoint, adding additional parking lots, and opening more food and beverage concessions. In 2022, it expects to break ground on over $150 million in construction projects, including a new five-gate terminal.   The airport also starts service to Austin, TX, on Allegiant Air on April 14, 2022, and Hartford, CT, on Breeze Airways on June 4, 2022.
