Southwest Florida residents have a new furniture outpost to rely on because Wayfair specialty brand Birch Lane opened one of its first-ever locations in February at Sarasota’s University Town Center.

Sarasota’s 8,000-square-foot Birch Lane store has the distinction of being one of the brand’s first in Florida. Birch Lane differs from some of Wayfair’s other specialty brands in that it offers a taste of all the classic styles you want in your home. Why pick only coastal or farmhouse when you can choose both? The move is particularly significant because it is one of the first forays by the online retailer into brick-and-mortar retail. Wayfair opened additional Birch Lane stores in Tampa and Boca Raton in the same month.

Birch Lane fans should be sure to attend its Grand Opening event on Saturday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To promote the new outpost, all customers at the Grand Opening will get 15% off their entire in-store purchase. They can also enjoy sips, sweets, and a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree. You can find Birch Lane on the mall’s first floor by Macy’s.

The in-store experience will give Birch Lane customers the chance to really touch and feel the objects they were already “adding to cart” online. Yet the store will also offer some surprising benefits to customers, like free shipping in as fast as two days for larger items and free in-store design services, even on something as sweeping as decorating your entire new home.

“Online shopping has a lot to offer in terms of ease and convenience, but we also know that many of our customers want to see our products and experience the brand in person,” said Taylor Fitzpatrick, general manager of Birch Lane. “Our new stores give customers the opportunity to do that, but they also offer so much more. They’re also a place to gather, make connections and get support and guidance from our expert staff on-site.”

Founded in 2014, Birch Lane is a brand for the customer that wants to inject a small update into the traditional look, a customer with a family that “shares a modern ethos to reimagining tradition, with open doors and open minds.” Since its start, the brand has dedicated itself to creating high-quality items at a cost-effective price. A home furnished by Birch Lane might look like a sophisticated white sectional accented by rattan chairs or it could have a more Parisian scheme, with red-and-white-striped armchairs and checkered throw pillows. The Birch Lane home is not about uniformity but classic style reimagined.
