Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida

Mission: To protect and preserve Southwest Florida’s native wildlife through educational outreach and to rescue, rehabilitate and release to their native habitat, sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.
Rescue. Rehabilitate. Release. Educate.
The Paul A. and Veronica H. Gross Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida (previously the Wildlife Center of Venice) is the only organization in our tri-county area which rescues and rehabilitates not only birds, but also reptiles and mammals. We have seven paid staff, and about 150 volunteers.
We are in the process of moving into our new location at 925 N. Jackson, where we are well on the way to creating a state-of-the-art rehab facility. We have absolutely no government funding and rely entirely on your generosity.
The wildlife in our area has been very badly impacted by rampant development, and the animals are losing their habitat at a terrifying rate. We are trying to educate the public on how to cope with this turn of events.
