Eliza and Hugh Culverhouse Jr. Contribute $500,000 to Season of Sharing Campaign

Eliza and Hugh Culverhouse Jr. have made a $500,000 contribution to the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Season of Sharing campaign to support families and individuals affected by Hurricanes Milton, Helene, and Debby.
Art Center Sarasota has recently received multiple grants totaling more than $99,333. The funding includes $10,000 from Gulf Coast Community Foundation to support exhibitions programming; $10,000 from the Community Foundation of Sarasota's Leslie & Margaret Weller Fund to support Art Center Sarasota’s youth programs; $10,000 from The Exchange to fund Youth Saturdays; $49,333 from Tourist Development Cultural/Arts (TDCA) for exhibitions programming; $10,000 from the Klaus Family Foundation to support youth programming; and $10,000 from the Roberta Leventhal Sudakoff Foundation, also for youth programs.
Visit Sarasota County has announced a $200,000 joint campaign with the Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau to welcome visitors and showcase the region’s resilience as it recovers from back-to-back hurricane recovery. The “Florida’s West Coast” campaign will run through the end of 2024, and $500,000 in matching funds from Visit Florida will bolster it, among other media efforts, through 2025.
LifeLink of Florida recently recognized Sarasota County Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates and her team for raising more than $31,600 in voluntary contributions during April’s annual National Donate Life Month public education campaign. The Sarasota County Tax Collector team has raised more than $140,000 since the inception of this initiative.
The University of South Florida's inaugural Grow Your Own Teacher Leader Academy Golf Tournament raised more than $56,000 in support of a USF College of Education program at the Sarasota-Manatee campus that prepares teachers in the School District of Manatee County to take leadership roles at their schools.
The Manatee Literacy Council announced that it was been awarded a $10,000 capacity-building grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County's Edward K. Roberts Fund for Emerging Needs.
