Barancik Foundation Grant Supports 'Legal Lifeline for Youth' Program

Plus, Forty Carrots receives a $50,000 donation for its mental health program and more.

The Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation recently awarded a $540,000 grant to Legal Aid of Manasota for its "Legal Lifeline for Youth" program, which provides legal support for foster kids in the 12th Judicial Circuit.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast has received grants of $315,000 from United Way Suncoast; $5,000 from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County; $2,648 from Donors of Distinction; and $1,750 from Venice-Nokomis Rotary.

Forty Carrots Family Center has received a $50,000 donation from William Brown and Stephanie Filippi-Brown to support mental health services for struggling children and families through Forty Carrots’ Mental Health Program.

The Sarasota Yacht Club has granted $25,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties and $25,000 to the Child Protection Center through its SYC Cares Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.

The Wilson-Wood Foundation has granted $10,000 to Safe Children Coalition for its HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) program. The program, which is free of charge for participants, helps parents provide educational enrichment for preschool-age children and is designed both to empower parents to participate in their children's education as well as to remove barriers to educational success.
