City of Sarasota administration offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 24, in observance of Christmas, and on Friday, Dec. 31, for New Year’s Day.

Trash and recycling collection schedules for city residential and commercial customers will not be interrupted by the holidays; however, hours of operation at recreation and cultural arts facilities will vary:

• Arlington Park and Aquatic Complex, 2650 Waldemere St., will be closed to the public Dec. 23-26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. 

• Lido Pool, 400 Benjamin Franklin Drive, will be closed Dec. 23-26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. 

• The nature trails at Bobby Jones Golf Club, 1000 Circus Blvd., will be open regular hours, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, including on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
  
  
• Payne Park Tennis Center, 2050 Adams Lane, will be closed Dec. 23-26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
  
  
• Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, 1845 34th St., will be closed Dec. 23-26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
  
  
• The box office at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail - will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It will be open on New Year’s Eve.

Most Sarasota County Government offices and services, including the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County, will also be closed observance of the Christmas and New Year's holidays.  

Florida Department of Health - Sarasota will be closed Dec. 23, 34 and 31 and closed weekends.

The Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) schedule is as follows:

• The Siesta Key Breeze and OnDemand services will operate regular schedules daily.
• Regular bus services and SCAT Plus services will be suspended on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and will resume normal operations on Sun, Jan. 2.
• The SCAT administration office and downtown transfer station customer service window will be closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Libraries and Historical Resources will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23, Friday, Dec. 24, Saturday, Dec. 25; and Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1. Libraries and Historical Resources will resume normal operations on Monday, Dec. 27, and then again on Monday, Jan. 3.

Knight Trail Park pistol and rifle range will be closed Saturday, Dec. 25 and Sunday, Dec. 26., and Saturday, Jan. 1.

Recreation centers will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23 and Friday, Dec. 24, and Friday, Dec. 31.

All solid waste facilities, including the Central County Landfill, the Citizens’ Convenience Center and the Chemical Collection Centers will be closed for Christmas and New Year's Day.

Sarasota County's Chemical Collection Centers at 8750 Bee Ridge Road and 250 S. Jackson Road, and The Re-Uz-It Shop, will also be closed Dec. 23-25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

The Landfill at 4000 Knights Trail Road and Citizens' Convenience Center at 4010 Knights Trail Road, Nokomis, will be open on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

Sarasota County Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) Call Center will be closed Thursday, Dec. 23 and Friday, Dec. 24 for the holiday. The call center will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 31. The call center does not operate on weekends.
