The Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County has announced the appointment of Kelley Lavin as the new board president and Sheila Mckoy as its new board secretary. Lavin succeeds Dr. Larry Thompson, president of Ringling College of Art and Design, who served as president of the board for the last 12 years. McKoy succeeds Pedro Reis, founder of the Circus Arts Conservatory.
Lavin currently heads her own strategic planning and marketing consulting company, The Lavin Group. For the previous 11 years, she was group publisher of Sarasota Magazine and its ancillary print and digital publications. McKoy, formally of the New Jersey Transit Art Program, heads SDM Art Solution Services LLC. Lavin and McKoy join Linda DiGabriele, managing director of Asolo Repertory Theatre, who will continue to serve as vice-president of the board for another year, along with Frank Maggio of First Home Bank, who serves as the board’s treasurer.
