Registration Open for Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop

This year’s workshop, themed “Roots of Sustainability,” will be held virtually.

Registration is now open for the 16th annual Sustainable Communities Workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 10. The City of Sarasota is an organizing partner for the event, presented by UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County.

This year’s workshop, themed “Roots of Sustainability,” will be held virtually. Featured speakers throughout the day include Meg Lowman, a global pioneer of canopy science; activist and humanitarian Rob Greenfield; and Tai Simpson, Indigenous activist and community organizer. Topics will include climate change, indigenous perspectives, water quality, urban agriculture, local projects and getting involved, and much more.

Registration is  $10 for the general public and $5 for students, and includes access to a live, full-day workshop with expert speakers and breakout sessions. Financial assistance to attend is available. For more information, visit the event website.
