Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources (PRNR) received two awards from the Florida Recreation and Park Association (FRPA) in recognition of annual report materials and volunteer contributions. Sarasota County PRNR was presented with the Public Relations Printed Material Award and the Voluntary Service Individual Award at FRPA’s annual conference in Orlando.

The FRPA Public Relations Printed Material Award was given to PRNR for the "Walk in the Park" report, a comprehensive annual summary that provides a year in review as well as a look ahead to future projects and goals. The FPRA Voluntary Service Individual Award was dedicated to Erma and Dave Miller, who have contributed over 47 years of volunteer services at Sarasota BMX, part of the Youth Athletic Complex.
