Gulfstream Roundabout Traffic Shift Will Start Monday

The City of Sarasota and the Florida Department of Transportation are warning drivers to expect stop-and-go traffic and changing lane conditions on Monday evening.

As part of the ongoing construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Gulfstream Avenue, the flow of traffic in the area will undergo a major change beginning the evening of Monday, Aug. 16. The shift is expected to take several days to complete. Click here to watch a short video detailing how the flow will change.

The City of Sarasota and the Florida Department of Transportation are warning drivers to expect stop-and-go traffic and changing lane conditions on Monday evening, and are encouraging drivers to find alternate routes, if possible.

Construction of the $8.6 million roundabout is expected to be completed next fall.
