The Port Manatee Propeller Club has awarded five Manatee County high school students one-time $2,000 scholarships. Each year, the Propeller Club gives out scholarships funded through the proceeds of its annual golf outing. The club bases the selection of the recipients on academic standing, personal recommendations and the completion of an essay outlining how their chosen field of study applies to the maritime industry.

This year’s scholarship recipients are Kaylene Balzer from Manatee High School, Madison Burt from Manatee High School, Owen Catlett from Lakewood Ranch High School, Madison Kahler from Lakewood Ranch High School and Reagan Williams from Palmetto High School.
