Teen Court of Sarasota recently received a $25,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to serve Sarasota County Schools students with quality personalized services through its prevention track. The funds will provide area youth a way to remove a conviction on their record or a mark on their school transcripts through successful completion of the program. Teen Court's programs and services are provided to youth in the local school system through referrals from local law enforcement agencies, school administrators and parents in the community. Teen Court also provides a case manager at each area high school one day per week.

Teen Court's programs guide students who have gotten off track through an array of positive redirection services, including youth sentencing hearings, mental health counseling referrals, mindfulness and emotion regulation classes and substance abuse education.
