Sarasota Yacht Club has announced that its chief operating officer and general manager Karen Harmon has earned the prestigious Distinguished Club Executive Award from BoardRoom magazine, in partnership with Forbes Travel Guide. Harmon is one of only 140 general managers globally to receive the distinction for leading her team in providing an excellent member experience.

Harmon, who joined the yacht club in 2018, has been instrumental in building its youth sailing program, expanding the marina and helping her team navigate the pandemic. Under her watch, Sarasota Yacht Club was among Florida’s first 100 establishments to receive the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association Seal of Commitment award for enhanced standards to ensure the safety of staff, members and guests.
