Visit Sarasota County (VSC) has named its board of directors for fiscal year 2021. Board members serve from Oct. 1, 2020 until Sept. 30, 2021, a period encompassing Sarasota County’s centennial and the 2021 Tourism Marketing Scope of Work for Sarasota County. The board's executive committee is comprised of Christine Johnson, chair, president of the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast; Nick Mavrikas, vice-chair, general manager, Embassy Suites; Lorrie Liang, secretary/treasurer, COO of Sarasota Memorial Hospital; and Steven High, immediate past chair, executive director, The Ringling Museum. Returning general members of the VSC Board are Hon. Alan Maio, Sarasota County commissioner; Gil Reyes, general manager, Westin Sarasota; Lori Ruth, associate publisher, Observer East; Richard Russell, executive director, Sarasota Opera; and Sondra Guffey, marketing and business development specialist, City of North Port. 

New appointments to the board are Ann Frescura, executive director, Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce; John LaCivita, executive vice-president, Willis Smith Construction; Rick Konsavage, managing director of resort and club, The Resort at Longboat Key Club; and Tim Self, financial advisor, Gulfside Investment Services.
