Sarasota Yacht Club was recently selected as a Platinum Club of America, one of only 30 yacht clubs in the country to earn the distinction from the esteemed Club Leaders Forum. Platinum recognition is given to the top five percent of private clubs. A panel of judges considered seven areas of excellence as a guideline, including the club’s universal recognition, membership, amenities and facilities, service, how the club has adapted to changing times, governance and fiscal management, and overall experience. The election takes place in the fall of even years and is conducted over a 90-day period. Earlier this year, Sarasota Yacht Club was also designated by the Club Leaders Forum as a "Platinum Club of the World," and was one of only 50 private yacht clubs selected in the world.
