Halfacre Construction Company, a Lakewood Ranch-based commercial construction company, is soliciting subcontractor bids to replace and add an approximately 14,000-square-foot building to Englewood Elementary School. The new classroom addition will have a courtyard and covered walkways; construction is scheduled to start in fall 2020, with a projected completion date of summer 2021. Several trade packages are included in the request for bids, including electrical, plumbing, concrete, masonry and heating, and ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), among others. Bids must be received via email by Wednesday, July 22.

The new structure was designed by Fawley Bryant Architecture. Once the replacement is complete, the current building will be demolished. The newest structure will house classrooms and other educational spaces for elementary children; it is forecast to cost approximately $5.5 million and will be a phased project.
