The Community Foundation of Sarasota County has granted more than $867,400 to nearly 40 local nonprofit organizations in support of programs addressing animal welfare, health care, school readiness, and summer learning. The grants will provide support to strengthen nonprofit capacity, address evolving needs and assist missions to serve those vulnerable populations who have been disproportionately impacted in the wake of the recent crises. While previously planned, grants awarded in this cycle provide support needed to cause-driven organizations to address issues revealed by or due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In its 40-year tenure, the foundation has granted more than $274 million to area nonprofit organizations that serve the community thanks to the generosity of charitable individuals, families, and businesses.
