Angie Stringer, president and CEO of Girls Inc. of Sarasota County, will be honored by the Zonta Club of Sarasota for her leadership and advocacy on behalf of girls during a March 29 brunch celebrating the club's 35th anniversary. March is International Women's History Month.
Speaker and actress Brenda Heckert will serve as mistress of ceremonies. The brunch will also include the premiere of a short film produced by Ringling College of Art and Design film students Jada Poon and Santiago Medina featuring interviews with Stringer and Laura Spencer, CFO of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. The event is open to the public and will take place Sunday, March 29 from 11 am to 2:00 pm at the Laurel Oak Country Club, 2700 Gary Player Boulevard in Sarasota. The Sarasota club is a member of Zonta International, which has provided more than $40 million in funding towards efforts to empower women and expand their access to education, health care, economic opportunities and safe living conditions. Zonta International is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
