Tidewell Hospice has announced its intention to establish the 501(c)(3) Tidewell Foundation, to launch July 1, 2020. By establishing the foundation, the organization can better position itself for increasing its fundraising capabilities to support its mission. Creating a separate foundation also simplifies the messages to donors about how meaningful and necessary philanthropic support is to execute the mission of Tidewell Hospice. The organization has named its recently hired EVP/chief philanthropy officer Debbie Mason, CFRE, to serve as Tidewell Foundation president.

The region’s only not-for-profit hospice, Tidewell serves more than 1,100 patients every day. It provides services delivered in patients’ homes, adult and retired living venues, local hospitals and in the 84 beds within the eight hospice house locations and a new inpatient unit in Venice Regional Bayfront Health. In addition, Tidewell now has “sister companies” under the Stratum Health family of services that provide home health care, skilled nursing services, companion care and support, physician home care services and palliative care.
