Tampa attorney Ronald Christaldi has been appointed to a five-year term on the New College of Florida Board of Trustees. The Florida State University System Board of Governors appointed Christaldi, who graduated from New College in 1993, to the position last fall. He is a partner in the law firm Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick, LLP and president and CEO of Shumaker Advisors Florida LLC.

Additionally, Mary Ruiz—a 1978 New College graduate who is the former CEO of Centerstone of Florida and now heads her own consulting form, Ruiz Strategic Advisors—replaces Audrey Coleman, who stepped down from her role on the board due to health issues. Ruiz will serve on the board through Jan. 6, 2021. She previously served as a trustee from 2011 to 2016.
