Halfacre Construction Company, a Lakewood Ranch-based commercial construction company, recently wrapped up the newest group home at The Haven, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the lives of those with unique abilities in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Named Mary Jane’s House, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is being held on Friday, Jan. 31, at 11:30 a.m. to commemorate the completion of the sixth single-family group home on the nonprofit’s campus. Mary Jane's House 5,329-square-foot group home features eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms. In addition to the new group home, the commercial construction company performed site work improvements and made upgrades to the existing site utilities on the campus. The $1.4 million project began in January 2019. Halfacre Construction Company has partnered with The Haven for more than a decade and has worked with the nonprofit on several projects, including two other single-family homes and its therapeutic amenity, a 1,248-square-foot commercial pool. Located at 4405 DeSoto Road in Sarasota, The Haven currently serves more than 800 children and adults with disabilities through educational, residential and employment programs and services.
