Florida Graduation Rate Climbs to 86.9 Percent

High school graduation rates have increased by 27.7 percent since 2003-04.

The state's 2018-19 high school graduation rate increased to 86.9 percent, according to the Florida Department of Education, an improvement of 0.8 percentage points over the previous year and a jump of 27.7 percentage points since 2003-04. Highlights within that rate include an of 81.5 percent graduation rate for black or African-American students, an increase of 13.5 percentage points since 2014-15; an 85.9 percent graduation rate for Hispanic students, an increase of 9.2 percentage points since 2014-15; an 80.6 graduation rate for students with disabilities, a 23.8 percentage point increase since 2014-15; and an 82.9 percent graduation rate among economically disadvantaged students, an increase of 12.5 percentage points since 2014-15.
