Primary Vote-By-Mail Ballots Start Going Out
Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner's office began mailing vote-by-mail ballots for next month's primary elections on Friday. More than 1,400 ballots were scheduled to be sent at first; those go to active-duty military personnel and their families, plus overseas U.S. citizens. Nearly 59,000 more ballots will be sent to domestic voters beginning Tuesday, July 24. Additional requests for vote-by-mail ballots can be submitted until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22. Depending on a voter's party registration, the primary ballot includes selections for Congress, governor, attorney general, agricultural commissioner, County Commission, judges and the Sarasota County School Board.
