Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner's office began mailing vote-by-mail ballots for next month's primary elections on Friday. More than 1,400 ballots were scheduled to be sent at first; those go to active-duty military personnel and their families, plus overseas U.S. citizens. Nearly 59,000 more ballots will be sent to domestic voters beginning Tuesday, July 24.
