The American economy added 213,000 jobs in the month of June while the unemployment rate ticked up to 4 percent, according to new data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Job growth occurred mostly in professional and business services, manufacturing and health care, while the retail industry lost jobs, according to the bureau. Average hourly wages rose by 5 cents; wages are up 2.7 percent over the previous year.
