Sarasota County and the Town of Longboat Key are hosting a grand opening celebration at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, for their Bayfront Park improvement project. New amenities and enhancements at the park include a kayak launch; pickleball, shuffleboard and basketball courts; a children's area and playground; a picnic area; a covered pavilion; a fishing pier; bicycle facilities; pathways for biking and jogging; and more. The park is located at 4052 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Longboat Key.
