Sarasota and Manatee counties are seeking to become the destination for Amazon's second corporate headquarters, which the company says will have 50,000 employees with an average salary of $100,000 and produce $5 billion in capital expenditures.

But a new analysis by the New York-based commercial real estate analysts Reis does not rank Sarasota or Manatee among the top 25 contenders. Reis used factors such as access to public transportation, cost of living and concentration of technology employment in making its list. New York City was first, followed by San Francisco, the District of Columbia and Seattle.
